Moon Yoga Practice

Medicine for the modern mind. Moon practice is a deep challenging Asana practice with longer holds and an emphasis on creating stability and calmness of both body and mind. Standing poses and floor work, coupled with a focus on conscious and extended exhalations are used to guide awareness inwards to touch that pure space of stillness that exists beyond the thinking mind. Moon practice is the foundation of all Tantric Hatha practices that follow.

Sun Yoga Practice

Sun practice is about energy management and developing a deeper relationship to Prana, the energy that sustains us and all of life. A more dynamic practice than Moon, the Solar path rides the line between cultivating the power we need to excel the sensitivity we need to touch the subtler planes of reality. In addition, Asanas that open the chest and upper body with an emphasis on developing the inhalation, Sun practice introduces deeper Tantric practices such as Bandhas and Mudras to increase the voltage and radiance within the body. A steady and calm body and mind is an absolute necessity on the Solar path.

Fire Yoga Practice

Fire practice ignites the radiant power of the soul. Using Asana practice as the framework, all elements of the Tantric path including deeper work with Bandhas and Mudras are utilised to still the mind, cultivate energy, burn through limitations and safely awaken the dormant and sacred power at the base of the spine. Although more physically challenging with the inclusion of inversions, the true emphasis is on the cultivation of an internal heat centered in the navel while directing awareness and energy into the spine. Aimed at providing a platform to ignite, thrive and live the highest version of yourself.

Restorative Hatha Yoga 

Restorative Hatha is a calming practice designated to introduce students to the subtle-subtle-energetic, aspect of traditional Hatha Yoga practice.  Restorative in nature, the practice uses props that support the body in a handful of long-held floor poses. Restorative Hatha enhance student’s experience of the five primary movements of energy in the body (the five primary values), while training the body and mind to rest in stillness in preparation for pranayama and meditation.

Yoga Nidra

Enlightened Sleep is considered to be equal to the higher stages of Samadhi, a state during in which activity of the mind is completely suspended.  The practitioner experiences conscious, deep, dreamless sleep, possessing awareness of the surroundings – without either thinking out or interacting with them with an options of Healing, Cognition (expansive awareness), Sankalpa Shakti (A practice to elevate the power of resolve.  Steps lead to a state of mind beyond all limiting thought, empowering you to overcome doubt and move effortlessly closer to the fulfilment of your intention). 

Duration - 45 minutes

Yoga for mind-body type

Tantra Hatha Yoga focuses on the cultivation of power and burning through the limitations that bind us in mediocrity. It aims to unify spiritual life and everyday life, enabling us to succeed in both. Although it is a separate body of knowledge, Tantra incorporates both Yoga and Ayurveda. Ayurveda works to balance the three doshas, the life energies of Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (water). The purpose of asana practice is to keep the doshas in their proper flow, as forces of health and vitality. In this session, you’ll discover your individual dosha (mind-body type) and, based on this, personalise your practice to keep your mind and body healthy and balanced.

Private yoga sessions are a great way to start learning the basics or to deepen your existing yoga practice. I teach private sessions to individuals and groups in private homes and at local studios. Private and semi-private sessions are designed to meet the needs and goals of each student. Private sessions can be scheduled on a one-time or ongoing basis.
